PART-TIME MANGEMENT OFFICE ASSISTANT (Position will work 20 hours, or less, per week)
Job Summary : Under direct supervision of the City Clerk and the Human Resources Analyst, this position serves as clerical support to the City Manager's office, City Clerk and Human Resources performing administrative and clerical work from routine to moderately difficult assignments in a highly confidential work environment.
Examples of assignments include:
City Clerk's Office – Filing; Process agreements, contracts, grants, Ordinances, Resolutions, and City Council meeting minutes; archives records; assists City Clerk in public record requests; Drafts memos, reports, correspondence, letters and proposals to be reviewed by the City Clerk, and completes projects as assigned.
Human Resources Office – Filing; Maintains reports; Compiles packets for new employees; Assist Analyst in selection process, testing and interviews; Archives records; Drafts memos, correspondence, and letters to be reviewed by the HR Analyst and completes projects as assigned.
City Manager's Office– Filing; general office and front desk receptionist duties. In addition, this position performs a variety of other related clerical and administrative tasks.
This is a non-benefited part time position except vacation and sick leave is accrued on a pro-rated basis and contributions are made to WA ST Dept of Retirement (PERS) by the employer and employee. This position will work 20 hours, or less, per week.
Salary : Range M03 at $14.03 - $16.76/hour.
Qualifications :
College level course work in office management, business practices, accounting, or other related coursework. Prefer an Associate's Degree in one of the above fields of education.
Five years of increasingly responsible clerical experience at the moderate level.
Applicant must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access or other comparable databases and/or software programs.

LEADWORKER - STREET DIVISION Job Summary : Under direction of the Street/Stormwater Superintendent, the Leadworker will coordinate, supervise and oversee the daily work of maintenance crews performing installation, repair, maintenance and servicing of city streets, roadways, sidewalks, transportation and stormwater facilities of the Streets Division. The Leadworker also schedules work and trains employees in proper procedures and appropriate use of materials and equipment, as well monitors the completion of daily work assignments.
The Leadworker applies full technical knowledge of materials, practices and work methods over projects and ensures that safety precautions and procedures are followed. Approximately 70% of the time, the Leadworker works in the field with crews, the remaining time is spent in the office planning the work, preparing work orders and maintaining computer records.
Salary : Range A20 at $3,880 - $4,773/month.

JOURNEY LEVEL LINEMAN Job Summary : Under supervision of a Line Foreman, the journey level Lineman performs skilled electrical work in the construction, maintenance, and operation of the City's electrical transmission and distribution system, both overhead and underground. All work is performed in a manner that ensures compliance with established work practices and safety procedures as well as economical use and security of vehicles, materials, and equipment.
Examples of duties include install, maintain, and operate the electrical system facilities, including transmission and distribution systems, substations, streetlights, and traffic signals; operate all utility vehicles and specialized equipment used in the electric industry; install and maintain wood and fiberglass poles and steel towers; install and remove transformers, capacitors, switches and similar equipment; install and maintain underground conductors, conduits, vaults, transformers, high voltage elbows, etc; as well as perform electric utility connections, disconnections, and the more hazardous electrical work concerning customer service activity.

Job Summary: Under direct supervision, checks all vehicles entering the City transfer station site to visually inspect the contents for proper disposal of vehicle contents and weighs the vehicle to determine the proper fee to be charged. Collects transfer fees.
There is one (1) vacant position. The employee will work 14-18 hours per week on a daily schedule to relieve the full-time scale attendant during the week and 8 hours on Saturdays. The employee must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed to cover sick leave and vacation leave for the full time Scale Attendant. Advance notice will be given, when possible, if necessary coverage is needed. This position is covered by the union but does not receive benefits.
Salary: Range A07- $15.24 to $18.20 per hour. No Benefits
Qualifications:
One year of work experience in customer service involving receipt and disbursement of money, or comparable experience. Knowledge of simple record-keeping systems and ability to accurately collect & disburse money.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER (911 Dispatcher) / TWO VACANCIES Job Summary: The City of Port Angeles is recruiting to establish a continuous Civil Service eligible list for Communications Officer--911 Dispatcher in the Police Department. Candidates who successfully complete all portions of the exam will be rank-ordered on an eligibility list that is valid for one year.
The top five candidates on the list will be certified to the Department for the final screening and hiring process when a vacancy occurs. The complete testing and hiring process can take up to 3-4 months. Currently we are looking to fill two vacancies.
Dispatchers answer 9-1-1 and other emergency telephone systems in a multi-jurisdictional dispatch center, and perform radio dispatch of operational and emergency police, fire and medical calls for assistance, which involve performing a wide variety of computer transactions and records functions. Note: Requires shift work on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis with variable days off and 3 month rotating shifts, as well as a 30-minute response time for emergency situations.
Salary & Benefits: $ 3,227- $4,116/month plus excellent benefits.

LATERAL POLICE OFFICER The Port Angeles Police Department is a progressive, State-accredited, community policing oriented, professional agency currently consisting of 33 commissioned employees, and a civilian contingent of 27 who are primarily responsible for police records and the PENCOM 911 Communications Center.
The Department has an assigned school resource officer in addition to other staffing including a downtown officer, Drug Task Force officer, two K-9 officers and a detective division. All officers and detectives are assigned a police vehicle. Home storage of police vehicles is authorized for officers living within a prescribed distance and response time. The Department anticipates filling one vacancy.
CAREER OPPORTUNITY - LATERAL POLICE OFFICER
